Meet Gianna Scoma, Our Other Spring Intern

Hi Everyone!

My name is Gianna Scoma and I am currently one of the spring interns here at Curator. I am just finishing up my junior year at Washington State University, where I am majoring in Communication and Technology, and minoring in Hospitality and Business Management. I have grown up in six different cities, spent most of my childhood in Seattle, and now live in Bellevue, Washington. Some things I am passionate about are meeting new people, working with animals, traveling, and trying new restaurants!

I originally went into college intending on being a nurse. I continued with nursing all the way through the beginning of my sophomore year, until my love for it started to die out. I had always thought that since I loved working with people, that healthcare would be the best job for me. I then learned about Communications, and how I could take my passion for connecting with people and apply it to working with clients. Since switching my major, I have not regretted a single moment of it, and have only grown and discovered new ways to become a better communicator.

My entire life I had always heard about advertising agencies, as my mom and grandmother were both agency executives. Public Relations really stood out to me as I began looking for internships last fall.  I soon realized that the fast paced, client-based energy that PR held was exactly what I wanted. I loved that PR was not just about technology and creating advertisements, but also included forming relationships and effective strategies for clients.

I am very fortunate to get the opportunity to experience an internship at Curator, as their values of creating conversation and communication with client’s products aligned with my values, as well. In the end, it is not just about the services that that a brand offers, but the impact they have on society. I am looking forward to learning more and shaping my professional self with the help of Curator.
