Last, But Not Least - Meet Our Final Fall Intern, Kate!

Hi everyone! My name is Kate Ryles and I am a fall intern here at Curator. I am a junior at the University of Washington majoring in Communications, and I am highly interested in social media and writing. I am so excited to join the Curator team this quarter and to gain more real world skills in Public Relations.

I grew up in the Bay Area, but I have quickly become a Seattleite over the past two years. I chose to go to school in Seattle because I wanted a change of scenery and to attend a big school, but I didn’t want to go too far from home. I try to take every opportunity that comes my way to be involved on campus because I’ve learned it’s the best way to make such a big school feel a bit smaller. A few groups I am a member of include the student senate, the PR club and Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Attending such a big school can be overwhelming, but also gives everyone the chance to find their niche, and I love being surrounded by so many opportunities to get involved and try out new things.

In my free time you can usually find me out and about. Whether I’m going to a Husky football game, running on the trails next to campus or going out to eat with friends, I’m always exploring. On days when the rain doesn’t permit going outside, I’ll probably be binge watching Grey’s Anatomy or Scandal in my fuzzy socks. I also love to travel and will be spending a quarter in Barcelona this spring, so I’m crossing my fingers my high school Spanish classes will pay off. Growing up in California conditioned me to love sunshine, so I have no complaints that I’ll also be living just a few blocks from the beach! I’m thrilled to be learning from an experienced and driven group of people at Curator and am looking forward to all that’s ahead this quarter.
